What is Dr. Dobbs TechNetCast? Dr. Dobbs TechNetCast is an interactive audio-video-chat show about Internet technologies. The show covers technical topics of interest to professionals of the Internet: developers, sysadmins, webmasters, site designers, ... When are the live events held? The weekly show is broadcast live every Friday at 3pm EST. There may also be special events scheduled at different times. Check the schedule for upcoming shows and guests. Other programming is available on-demand from the website. Do I need to attend the live events to enjoy the show? No. Every show, including the live programs, is available on demand from our archives. What software do I need to receive the audio/video feed? At a minimum, you will need software that receives RealAudio and RealVideo, such as Progressive Network's RealPlayer (versions 4.0 and above). What software do I need to participate in chat? The chat room can be accessed on the web through our chat server. Click on the chat links throughout this site and join the #technetcast. If you are familiar with IRC, you can also use any IRC-compatible software -point it to irc.technetcast.com, port 6667, channel: #technetcast Is the chat room available after the event? Yes, the chat room is always open, even when a live event is not taking place. Join the chat room at any time to meet other listeners and exchange information. |
